How To Dismantle Your Landing Net - Without The Struggle

You’ve packed away the rest of your kit and you’re almost ready to leave—except for one final task: wrestling with your landing net. Sometimes it can feel like a complete nightmare to dismantle, and no matter what you do, it never seems to roll up neatly. Here’s how to tame your net quickly and easily.

1. Place one hand on the spreader block and tuck the handle securely under your arm.

2. Press your other elbow against one of the arms, close to the spreader block.

3. With your free hand, grip the opposite arm so that your forearm stays straight and parallel to the one braced with your elbow.

4. Now, keeping that forearm straight, push the arms apart. This should allow the arm in your hand to pop out of the spreader block.

5. Finally, pull the second arm out of the spreader block—and you’re done. Just roll it up neatly and you’re ready to head off.
